Peter Simcock, The Eye Expert, attended the British and Eire Association of Vitreoretinal Surgeons meeting in Bristol in November.  He was the first Consultant Eye Surgeon in the UK to train Nurse Practitioners to perform eye injections required to treat wet macular degeneration.  A safety audit of the first 10,000 injections performed was presented at the meeting.  This successful study generated great interest and is now being adopted by many eye units across the UK with this study being used a benchmark for other eye units.
