It is important to publish surgical outcomes and results as well as patient reported outcomes.  At Exeter Eye all cataract surgery data is captured on an electronic patient record system call Medisight and this facilitates continuous audit on important cataract outcomes such as improvement in vision, refractive outcomes and complication rates.  This date is published regularly so that you can see the outcomes of my cataract surgery.  It also is sent to the National Ophthalmology Database Audit run by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.  I also audit my retinal surgical procedures.
